English trip on the weekend?
Wont be posting on this Saturday or Sunday, as I should be or will be on a trip with the university to the next prefecture. Should be partaking in an English weekend where a couple of the international exchange students will be helping the English (Japanese learning English) students to try and converse. I say should because at the moment I'm feeling slightly ill and very lethargic i believe its the changing of season affects most people and me no matter anywhere on the globe.

Kyusan (9-3) International part
Last night it was the 9-3 (in japanese the reading for 9 3 sounds like the word Kyusan which is the name of the University) party which one of Megumis friends Lisa/Risa organised as a get together for a few Japanese people and other exchange students at Kysuan to mingle (yes mingle). The Izakaya we went to was pretty good this time with our own room and plentiful amount of food and drink consumed. Well we all made a couple of new friends and i actually tried to speak so Japanese with some sort of success, main word here is some. We stayed till around the Izakaya/ Restaurant's closing time and after that a most of us moved onto.......yes you guessed it more Karaoke and prettymuch stayed to closing time there aswell which is about 5. Karaoke has become a staple place to end up after a night out in Japan so far.

Drinking Pains??????? I dunno ........ Maybe
Music night at Maki's bar The Undergroud (you remember Maki right? Chris' GF (You read the previous posts right? i'm assuming you did any way)). Well yeah music night was last night basically Maki had a reunion sort of thing with her University friends (i'm guessing) at the bar. We met quite a few of them and they were all pretty sound people (when i said we i forgot to mention that was Me, Joel, Katy, Coline, Benny and Patrick).
It was a good night everybody got speaking in the bar maki and her friends played a few tunes and chris even got to play with his synth equipment. I reckon everyone was sufficiently tipsy maybe bordering a light drunk but me I just felt ill maybe it was the smoke; maybe it was the alcohol maybe i just wasnt feeling right, but anyhows i felt light a pile of crap. I would like to say that ruined the night for me which was actually a good night.
but not to dwell on ill times lets look at some photos:

Tenjin and canal city shopping
Ok finally something to do on a free day. Well we (Me, Katy, Joel and Megumi (Meg)) went in to Tenjin and Hakata on Sunday to do something which was productive compared to sitting in our apartments and watching cartoons and films.
So we planned to go to the Amano exhibition today, I mentioned it in the last post, but we did not go in the end due to me and Katy both losing the address of where it was being held so that was a shame.
Instead Joel took us to this Otaku store:
It was 4 floors of all things anime and manga related oh god the mint condition collection figures in the store were far from cheap but there was some awesome things which were cheap enough but was still cool/awesome for example this:
Krillin Chillin' |
But saying this there was a slightly dodgy floor in this shop housing all things porn which was anime/ manga related so that meant eroge (erotic games) and doujinshi (fan fiction of the porn variety)
So after we went about in town looking around and went to Canal city in Hakata. Canal City is a large mall with some funky architecture compared to most shopping areas in Britain. this place was also pretty epic with many trendy stores, an arcade, a lot of restaurants and i mean a lot. There is also a Pokemon center and a JUMP store which was pretty epic.
Yeah nice architecture and a canal running through it hence the name Canal City |
WHOOOOO EPIC POKEMON CENTER |

Short Mundane Post
So as the title says i'm just gonna write a little today because seriously nothing has happened that is blog worthy, so far it has been a very mundane week university, sleep, homework and the internet has been the 4 main factors in my week. But....... hopefully i will do something blog worthy this weekend and will report on it soon. E.g. maybe go to the Yoshitaka Amano 天野 喜孝 exhibition in town (for those of you who don't know who he is, he's the illustrator of most the character art in earlier final fantasy games and in the more recent games the logo designer and other concept art as well )
Finally i just wanna say i'm sorry for not posting and updating i haven't given up on this little project yet but will hopefully post something in the coming days. Something interesting and yeah you guys have fun over the weekend too.
P.s. I am 1 can away from my Ultra Cola can collection i just got Ultra king can yesterday and so yeah till next time guys.

Uni and bowling
So yeah i am sorry for not posting for a couple of days but i guess i was just lazy and nothing much has really happened.
Well on Sunday i managed to recuperate from my deathly hangover on Saturday, but still my sleep pattern was, is and will remain pretty messed up.Carrying on with what happened on Sunday, well i woke up in the afternoon and thought i was gonna have a quiet night in with tv dinner and the internet watching stupid people on youtube maybe. Around about 6pm i think Joel phoned me up asking if i wanted to go to a game center and maybe some bowling and see where we end up. So i said "yeah why not"
About 7pm-ish we met Yuki and Syuco (Yuki's friend) and drove to the game center and had some food before deciding to go bowling after meeting Yuki's other friends Yusuke and mao (Yeah her name is mao but i'm not sure if this is the spelling or if its short for anything). But yeah any how bowling was fun even though i was coming last and everything, man japanese bowling shoes are soooooo comfortable.
Fireworks oh fireworks well Yuki wanted to go and set fireworks off so before bowling we bought a small variety pack and that was it and off to kashii beach we went. What a dissapointment that was not the beach but the fireworks somehow because we bought a fairly cheap pack it meant that most of the fireworks were Roman candles (well the one that is basically an over glorified sparkler). the sparklers in Japan were not to disappoint though as they are like mini rockets but the fact they are like mini rockets mean they burn out far quicker than you want them too. also through out this time Joel and Katy were drinking Chu-hi well since bowling any way.
Ok onto Kashii town we go well as a mandatory stop. we went and said hi to Chris and Maki at her bar after that we went to......................yes you got kareoke!!
On that note recently Uni life is slowly becoming mediocre like i expected it to be, but should be fine after a little more getting used to. One more thing i got my electric bill today and paid at a convenience store that was kinda surreal for me I'm guessing they didn't name convenience stores convenient for nothing right.
